Performix SST is a fat-burner developed by Corr-Jensen Labs and sold in capsule form and powder form. For the purposes of this review we are going to concentrate on the capsules.
SST stands for Suspension Super Thermogenic. The suspension part relates to the liquid delivery system that Performix promote heavily. Each capsule is filled with a clear liquid in which tiny blue beads float. The little blue balls are called “Terra Intelligent Beads” and they provide “Terra Intelligent Dosing”.
It looks like these beads are where most of the fat-burning actionapparently comes from. Hard to believe much can come from something so small, but that seems to be the way with a lot of the expensive fat-burners these days: less is more, or at least that’s what you’re supposed to think.
Performix SST Liquid Capsules Review
From the first look at the Performix SST packaging and then the liquid capsules, it’s obvious that Performix have done an incredible design job. The liquid caps themselves look like something from a science-fiction movie. The electric blue balls sloshing around in the clear liquid looks cool.
It also looks expensive – which turns out to be the case – but like most people looking to shed some fat, we’d be willing to purchase the product if it did the job. We’re going to see whether it can.
First, let’s look at what Performix SST is supposed to do.
Performix SST – Product Claims
As there is a powder form as well as a capsule form of SST, there is no clearly defined marketing copy on the Performix website for each separate product. However, if you read it carefully you can see where the description of one stops and the other starts.
The capsules are designed to induce the following benefits to the user:
- Raise Metabolic Rate
- Increase Thermogenic fat-burning
- Improve focus and energy
That sounds pretty standard for a fat-burner. Of course, Performix hope that their really clever sounding descriptions of the – “introduction phase”, “chill phase”, “sustain and block phase” and “transition phase” – will have you thinking their product is vastly better than the competition.
Now we’ll take a look at the recipe to see what they’ve put in the capsules:
Most of the formula is held within a proprietary blend but there are two ingredients that have their inclusions stated outside that blend.
- Niacin (10 mg): Niacin is actually Vitamin B3 and a deficiency would hinder cellular energy and muscle function
- Vitamin B12 (1000 mcg): important for oxygen carrying red blood cell production and central nervous system function
That’s a good start. A lot of products have a basic Vitamin B complex. Many people are deficient in them (especially in the US) and it helps the general health status of the product.
The proprietary blend is where things get a little confusing because on three different websites that promote Performix SST, there is a different quantity and description of the formula. So, we’re going to use the official website’s label which happens to coincide with the bottle of SST we have received for the review.
Performix Suspension Super Thermo Complex: Total Blend = 1,172 mg
1. Terra Pod Ballistic Beadlet (the little blue balls)
- Bitter Orange Extract
- Synephrine HCL
- Huperzine A
- Yohimbine HCL
- Mucuna Pruriens
- Black Pepper
2. Diffusion Carrier Oil (the clear liquid)
- Medium Chain Triglycerides
- Safflower Oil
So there’s a few thermogenics which will help with focus and energy as well: caffeine, synephrine, bitter orange and yohimbine. There’s a couple of dedicated cognitive boosters in: mucuna pruriens, huperzine. And Ashwaganda’s main input is probably not much more than anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory. Black pepper is included in supplements to increase the other ingredients’ absorption into the user’s blood stream.
Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions to the letter. In this case, at the time of writing the review the official direction is for the adult user to take 1 serving (2 capsules) in the morning on an empty stomach.
Purchasing and Availability
Due to the nature of the formula i.e. that it contains Yohimbine, it may not be considered safe in many countries, and is therefore not legal for sale. Canadians, Australians and British are out of luck. This might be a good thing when you read the comments section on this product.
Americans can expect to pay about $60 to $100 for a one month supply of Performix SST capsules. Companies like GNC and BodyBuilding stock it for their USA clients.
Is It Recommended?
It’s not really a case of whether or not we recommend Performix SST. The fact is, unless you are in the USA, you probably won’t be able to get hold of it.
And if you are from the US, the yohimbine would give us a lot of doubt. We have some excellent alternative recommendations below.
We’ve tested a lot of fat-burners and cutting supplements and you should take a look at our most recommended. Just follow the link below.
For an alternative to Performix SST, especially for residents of the UK, Canada, Australia and Europe you should particularly check out Instant Knockout. It is a product which is currently the very best on the market in our opinion.
