Clean Burn is the multi-ingredient fat burner from Kaged Muscle. The CEO of Kaged Muscle is Kris Gethin; a huge figure in the bodybuilding world.
We expected big things from Clean Burn, given Kris Gethin’s reputation as one of the go-to body transformation experts and world renowned trainer.
The Clean Burn marketing info has such tag lines as “Carve your body without the jitter” and the “…premium ingredients are backed by studies and not claims”.
These days, a fat burner isn’t worth looking at if it doesn’t have a couple of scientifically studied, and supported, ingredients.
What makes Clean Burn any different to the rest of the fat burners available?
We had a go with it to find out….
What is Clean Burn?
First and foremost it’s designed to be a fat burner, WITHOUT the usual bunch of stimulants in the formula.
Why no stimulants? It’s not because Mr. Gethin hates stimulants, because one of his products is actually Kaged PURCAF Caffeine pills. He even recommends taking the caffeine alongside Clean Burn if you want the additional kick.
It’s more likely that you are being given the option of taking caffeine on top of Clean Burn or to give it a miss. Also, the ingredients chosen for Clean Burn probably leave little room for anything else in the capsules.
Above all, this product is a thermogenic fat burner, but there are other elements to it. Here is a snapshot of the advertised benefits:
- Thermogenic Fat Burning
- Blood Sugar Control
- Appetite Control
- Certified Free of Banned Substances
- Vegetable Capsules
As with every other product of this nature, it all comes down to the formula in the capsules. Let’s open them up and find out what they are capable of.
Ingredients – What’s in Clean Burn?
The ingredients stated below are straight off the Clean Burn label. Each inclusion rate (mg/mcg) written next to the ingredients is the amount in 2 capsules.
134mcg – Chromium (ChromeMate)
CLEAN BURN MATRIX
1000mg – L-Carnitine Tartrate (Carnipure)
333mg – Green Tea extract (50% EGCG)
33mg – Capsicum Fruit extract (Capsimax)
BLOOD SUGAR SUPPORT
100mg – Gymnema Sylvestre extract 75% (GS4 PLUS)
When we multiply the dosages X 3 to get the daily totals, it is clear to us that there aren’t many products out there that have such large doses of these particular ingredients.
Is that a good thing?
Certainly, with respect to the L-Carnitine Tartrate; that makes 3000mg (3 grams). L-Carnitine is responsible for transporting fatty acids to the mitochondria (power stations) of cells to be burned as fuel. Carnipure is the notable patented form of this compound.
The Green Tea extract racks up nearly 1000mg, making about 500mg of that being EGCG – one of the best fat fat burners available.
Gymnema Sylvestre extract is in early stages of research but the specific GS4 extract in Clean Burn shows promise of reducing sugar levels (from studies with diabetics) and possibly suppressing the taste of sugar in food.
Side Effects and Standard Precautions
There is nothing particularly concerning in the formula of Clean Burn.
The only thing to be aware of is that the Green Tea dose is high compared to many products.
Should you feel any effects such as nausea or dizziness then reduce the dose or come off it completely.
Pregnant and breastfeeding women should avoid this product, and any other like it.
People with medical conditions, taking prescribed medication or otherwise unsure should consult their doctor before using Clean Burn.
Conclusion and Recommendations
Clean Burn is a quality fat burner in our opinion. It doesn’t have a massive list of ingredients but what it lacks in diversity, it makes up for in dosage.
This would be a perfect product to take in between cycles of stimulant based fat burners. For example:
8 to 12 week cycle of a recommended stimulant fat burner like Instant Knockout, followed by 4 to 8 weeks of Clean Burn.
This would serve the purpose of re-sensitizing your body to stimulants during the Clean Burn cycle thereby making more of any impact during the Instant Knockout cycle.
