RSP Nutrition have gone a different way to most with their flagship fat-burner – it’s Stimulant Free!!
Which means what exactly? It means there’s no stimulants, of course. It also means the other ingredients are going to have to be strong fat-loss agents in order for the product to hold up against the more aggressive, stimulant-heavy competition.
We like RSP; they produce one of our favourite products in Regen – there are no stims in that either, and it works as a pre-workout, intra-workout and post-workout recovery. However, it is not trying to burn your fat, and QuadraLean is. And we all should know by now that fat-loss is an entirely different beast to workout fuel.
What is QuadraLean and How Does it Work?
QuadraLean is a stimulant-free weight loss aid manufactured by RSP Nutrition. The company manufactures other products intended for weight management and/or general body composition maintenance, but QuadraLean appears to be the closest thing they have to a dedicated fat-burning formula.
Many companies make a fat-burner with stimulants and one without to cover the field of potential customers.
Benefits of Going Stim-Free
There are certain advantages to using a fat-burner without stimulants:
- Stimulant sensitive people are obviously the main beneficiaries
- It also allows the consumer to choose where, when and how to take stimulants they choose to take otherwise, whether it’s the caffeine in their 3 strong coffees a day they are addicted to, or the synephrine/caffeine/guarana etc. in their pre-workout. This way they shouldn’t get overloaded and jittery.
- The extra space in the supplement capsules themselves can be used for other dedicated ingredients. Some stim-heavy products have hundreds of milligrams of stimulants, leaving little room for other ingredients.
- You can stack a stim-free fat-burner with one that contains them, which would compound their effects. So long as you check with a medical professional first, if you are in doubt of your ingredient dosages.
Ingredients of QuadraLean
The recipe is where the action is, so let’s have a look at RSP’s shot at it:
|Ingredient||Per 3 Caps||Description|
|Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA)||500mg||multiple double-bond isomers of Omega-6 fatty acid and linoleic acid. Lowers serum lipids and strong antioxidant. Possible anti-inflammatory effect. Can induce some fat loss in sedentary people.|
|Garcinia Cambogia||500mg||the bioactive compound is hydroxycitric acid which can lower food intake and in-turn bodyweight. More study is required as human trials are mixed but it looks promising.|
|Raspberry Ketones||250mg||the aromatic flavouring of one of the world’s favourite fruits possesses fat-burning capabilities similar to ephedrine when studied in test-tubes. The human effect is less pronounced however and studies are ongoing.|
|QuadraLean Carnitine Blend (proprietary)||500mg|
|Acetyl-L-Carnitine||-||transports fatty acids to cell mitochondria for use as fuel to burn energy. Can assist aerobic training endurance and energy levels. May improve cognitive function.|
|Propionyl-L-Carnitine||-||can apparently help with blood flow and limping walks!|
|Carnitine Tartrate||-||might reduce oxidative stress after intensive exercise|
As an addition to a wider supplement program, QuadraLean is a solid product. To use it as your sole fat-burner for cutting cycles or just getting lean, you might be disappointed. The ingredients are mostly good but there’s nothing that really stands out as having high impact results.
The cost of using it as a supportive supplement to other products may be prohibitive to a lot of people, but we recommend it is used in that way.
Always follow the instructions on the packaging.
The maximum quantity of capsules you should take a day is 6. That’s in two lots of 3, taken on an empty stomach.
Ask your doctor if you are unsure about this though. As usual, seek medical advice if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, on medication or currently experiencing a medical condition.
Bear in mind that taking 6 caps a day gives you only 25 days worth of product.
If you experience any negative side effects from taking QuadraLean then stop immediately. The formula is fairly innocuous though, therefore there shouldn’t be anything to really worry about.
Pricing and Availability
Due to the nature of the recipe, QuadraLean is available to most countries.
Canadians will pay about $30 CAD for a bottle which will last for 25 days if you take the 6 caps a day
Australians can expect a $30 AUS average as well
USA residents – $23 USD or around that mark. No wonder the US have the top bodybuilders at those prices
UK residents might pay £17 GBP for the same quantity
Conclusion and Recommendations
As we mentioned earlier, RSP make some good products. They don’t make too many outlandish claims and they generally include good dosages of their ingredients.
This product is sound, but we’d still use a product that has more punch.
If it comes down to one product or the other because of price then we’ll stick with our potent fat-burners to be honest.
